It was a battle of DL-ravaged teams as The Toronto Blue Jays (16-21) beat the Seattle Mariners (17-20) 7-2 Saturday night to extend their winning streak to four. Toronto is missing key players including Troy Tulowitzki, Josh Donaldson, Russell Martin and three of their starting pitchers, while Seattle has four starting pitchers on the DL.

This game stayed pretty quiet untilthe top of the 6th inning, when Jarrod Dyson doubled in a run to put the Mariners up 2-1. It was the last lead they would see though, as Kendrys Morales would tie the game with a homer in the bottom half then Jose Bautista would smoke a three-run shot to go up 5-2 in the seventh.

Bautista looks like he could be over his early season slump, as he has three home runs in his last four games, driving in eight along the way. He’s still hitting below the Mendoza line (Bautista is currently sitting at .185) but things seem to be trending upwards.

Kevin Pillar would add a sac fly in the 8th to make it 6-2 Jays, but there was still a bit of gas in the tank. The Jays executed a double steal with backup catcher Luke Maile taking off for second and Devon Travis stealing home on the throw. Seattle had to have known something was up, as Maile doesn’t even have a major league steal attempt, but they took the bait anyways and let Travis dash across home plate.

Marcus Stroman struck out nine in six solid innings of two run ball for the Jays, while Mariners interim starter Ryan Weber gave up one run over 3.2 IP. Both teams will look to right the ship as more players come back from injury.
